solc22 #4 an odd world

This is such an odd world we find ourselves living in these days.

We have become a divided world, forcefully promoting our own way of thinking, while not listening to any alternatives. We have heard ”authorities” make judgements about requirements and restrictions, and then completely reverse those decisions. We have been asked to put our lives on hold for two years, and yet, thankfully, life has gone on.

But Nature hasn’t noticed these differences.

Nature has kept its own predetermined schedule. Spring has brought new life, right on cue. Summer has delivered bright hot days and cricket-songed nights. The fall colors lit up our vision and crisp air filled our lungs. Winter delivered the cold that exposes the foundation of all things.

I believe we are needing the return of spring this year more than ever. We are tired of these new routines that are wearing us down. We continue to try to understand things that are impossible to make sense of. We wonder what is coming at us next.

But Nature reassures us that there is a plan, there is an unchanging reality to depend on, and there is hope.

Maybe not such an odd world after all.

He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved. Psalm 104:5

  1. I hadn’t really thought about nature being the constant amid all the changing “normals”. What a lovely perspective!
