the race is on

The alarm sounds.

Thoughts fly – so much to do!

Rush, rush, rush.

Start the day with home chores.

Food for the morning, lunch to pack, dinner to plan. Laundry to start.

Check email. Read the paper. Drink coffee. Hurry! Quick! Out the door to school.

Nonstop daily routine.

Students. Teachers. Assessments. Data. Paperwork. Record Keeping.

Battles to choose, decisions to make, successes to celebrate. Plans made for tomorrow.

Errands after work.

Extra stops for things not found or missing at the first places.

Traffic slows the journey home… deep breaths follow…then this sight catches your eye:

sunset glow

The afterglow!

My favorite time of day is just at dark when all thoughts of what must get done stop… and small pools of light come alive on tired faces everywhere. – Brian Andreas

Lovely – the quote, that photograph, and the description of all the rushing that gives way to contentment and rest.

The afterglow is beautiful isn’t it? The pace of your piece mirrors its parts. Masterful! 🙂

Ah-love that work, the ‘afterglow’. Lovely to race through with you, then settle in to take a deep breath, ‘afterglow’. Terrific!

  4. I love that glow on the horizon too. I love that I’m seeing that glow later in the day now!
